Urge your Member of Congress to Condemn Hatred and Bigotry

On Saturday, August 12, 2017, white nationalist and neo-Nazi protestors marched in Charlottesville in a day full of hate, bigotry, and violence. The protestors’ racist, anti-Semitic, and xenophobic language, chants, and images are deeply disturbing, and we mourn the violence that led to the loss of three lives and many injuries. All people of good will, especially public officials, have a responsibility to denounce the ideology that inspired the tragedy and stand up for equality, freedom, and justice for all.

Urge your members of Congress to denounce the racism, anti-Semitism, and xenophobia that were at the heart of Charlotteseville’s events.

Jewish Values

Jewish tradition teaches that respect for all people is fundamental to each person's duty to God: "What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbor" (Babylonian Talmud, Shabbat 31a). Equality is based on the concept that all of God's children are "created in the image of God" (Genesis 1:27).
