Thank you for taking action and asking the EPA and NHTSA to preserve robust car emissions standards. States can play a role in car emissions as well. You can ask your governor to ensure that your state maintains robust vehicle emissions standards regardless of what the EPA regulations are. When Congress passed the Clean Air Act, it specifically allowed California to create its own clean air standards, as long as those standards were at least as stringent as the federal standards. It also allowed states to choose to adopt the California standards and join California in their more ambitious regulations. Ask your governor to move your state to the California standards and make sure your state is protected regardless of EPA action.
